6 weeks to unlock your lower body mobility

How would it feel to not be held back by injuries or restrictions? The ability to do the activities you want to do starts with unlocking your movement. This sets a broader base for everything you do later, keeps you moving, and feeling young.

Get Started

You know it's important, but you don't know where to start.

You understand that your level of fitness will directly effect the quality of your life as you age. However, you also live a busy life. You have a lot of interests and responsibilities and there are complexities that come with trying to figure this out on your own.

The learning curve

It took me 3 years of testing different methods in my flexibility training until I could touch my toes. I can now get people these same results in 3-6 weeks...

Save yourself the frustration and wasted time of the trial and error approach and instead, learn from someone who's been where you are and had to go through everything that didn't work to find what did.

Accountability

You've likely been in this situation before: really you know what you should do and doing the basics will get you a long way, however, if you're not currently where you want to be, it's less likely to be an information problem and more likely: a consistency problem. Being part of a community and being held accountable to a coach is a game changer.

Longevity

Everything has been stripped back to the fundamental skills, activities and techniques that will allow you to stay strong, fit and flexible into your later years. This is a versatile program which can be used as the backbone to any other training you may be doing or adapted to any lifestyle. Ultimately, this program keeps you consistent and that alone is what will make the biggest difference over the next few years.

The Process.

The most important factor for me when creating this program was to find a way to give you all the information you need while always putting the main focus on action. As much as this is a methodical training plan that has gone through years of refinement, The Squat Foundations Program is also an experience that understands that you’re human and there’s more to training than just knowing which exercises to do.

Q's & A's

how long is the program

6 weeks

What's the goal of the program?

The goal of the program is to now broaden the scope of your mobility practise and aim to sit in a resting squat, in turn unlocking your ankles and hip rotation, giving you the space in your hips to:

  • squat better
  • sit cross legged on the floor
  • take the strain out of your lower back
  • get even lower in your forward fold

What happens after the 6 weeks?

When the 6 weeks is over, you will have unlocked your entire lower body flexibility for functional ranges of motion. This now sets you up to move onto upper body mobility and bodyweight training that builds your strength while moving you through extended ranges of motion. With each level you build, we have new goals to aim for and new plans to get you there.

what about upper body mobility?

Upper body mobility is of course super important and can definitely be something that you focus on after this program but for the sake of effectiveness and simplicity, it's best to tackle your lower body mobility first as this will generally have a bigger impact on your life and training. When you're squatting easily, you can move your focus to the upper body!

do i get to speak to a coach in the program?

Yes! I will always be there, ready to answer everyone’s questions via message and there will also be weekly Q&A’s to address more urgent or complex questions.

are there any live sessions or classes?

Because your training will be unique to your needs and everyone works on different schedules, it’s impractical to be hosting live sessions during this program. There will however be live Q&A calls where you can ask me any questions you have about your specific training as well as follow along routines for warm ups, cool downs, exercise demos and lots more.

How many workouts do i have to do / how much time does it take every week?

This is completely up to you. I encourage some kind of simple, daily practise as well as 1-2x more formal workouts in your week. Both of these can be adapted to your lifestyle as needed.

am i too old to start?

I’ve trained 16 year olds and 84 year olds. Everyone can progress in their fitness journey but of course, training will need to adapt as you get older. Having said this, I’ve coached people in their mid 50’s to achieve levels of strength and flexibility they never had in their youth!

do i need access to a gym?

For this program, you don’t need anything that couldn’t be found in your home.

is this 121 or is this a group program?

You get the benefit of being part of a community but everyone's plans are tailored to your specific mobility needs the same as you'd expect from 121 coaching.

does it include nutrition?

During the 6 week program, I don’t include nutrition. This is mainly just to simplify things as much as possible. If you’re trying to do too much at once, you won’t do any of it very well. Nutritional guidance can come later on your journey when you’ve got the basics down.

It's all just talk until you do it.

Here's some of the incredible things people have already achieved.

I'm Dan Isherwood, a certified Level 3 REPs Personal Trainer since 2019, with experience coaching at Next Level Fitness in the Isle of Man since 2021.

Despite my competitive gymnastics background, I lost all of my flexibility when I took up weight training.

I became interested in developing flexibility because everyone expected me to be flexible and yet I was the most inflexible person I knew.

Normal stretching wasn’t helping so I had to really dive into what works for developing flexibility for adults.

It took me 3 years of trial and error just to touch my toes. I'm now getting the same results for clients in just 3-6 weeks.

Still on the fence?

Starting a program like this can be a big commitment and there is always the possibility that you don't vibe with my style of training or we're just not a good fit.

So here's what we're going to do:
